Young James is a new project featuring singer / songwriters T.C. Young and Davy James. They each have over a dozen years under their belts playing in assorted indie rock bands in Saskatoon, Calgary, and Vancouver. Individually, they have entertained audiences from dive bars to arenas, and have released enough independent recordings to be worthy of a box-set. The band also includes another local music veteran, Jesse Johnstone on drums and banjo. T.C.’s brother Brett Young completes the lineup on bass and harmony vocals.Young James’ new self-produced, self-titled debut album blends the country-influenced folk rock of 1970’s California with distict prairie sounds and imagery.

Davy James is living proof that you can’t take the prairie out of the boy. After playing in independent rock bands in and around Saskatoon for a number of years, Davy moved to Vancouver where his solo project blossomed. His highly acclaimed Sixer EP weaves in and out of boyhood memories from Saskatchewan and his life living in Vancouver. These themes, along with James’ skillful guitar playing forms a venerable album of rock anthems for the displaced soul.
